For example, laser printers typically require margins of at least 1/8 inch (9 points). How much depends on the margin limitations of your printer or typewriter. Leave a little space between your return address and the top and left edges. If your envelope does not have a preprinted return address, type it in the upper left corner, in an area not to exceed 50% of the length and 33% of the height of the envelope. If you want the original, please refer to his earlier post with the link to his site.Replace the text in brackets with the component indicated. Your mileage may vary based on driving conditions. It is not the original!! Please read all the comments and disclaimers so you understand the changes that were made. (I'm pretty sure that constitutes abuse and invalidates our service contract ) The only thing to slow things down is the Manila envelope dialog, which my Executive Director wanted in to remind people not to send Pre-Gummed envelopes through the $20,000 copier. Additionally, the user has the option to quickly print an envelope, similar to the real envelope dialog. (I had a screen shot sitting there as I was laying it out.) Since all the information found is inserted into the dialog, the user has the option to change it, or to append or print right away. Regarding the dialog, the one I added is designed to mimic the normal WP Envelope dialog. I've tried to add comments to your instructions where my changes might affect things. This attachment is more fully commented as to what was changed, disclaimers and warnings were added, and credit to you was retained.

Additionally, I rewrote the bar-code routine to start looking at the "Mailing Address End" bookmark instead of the bottom of the document, and work backwards until it found the zip code.Įven though I'm still testing, I attached a copy.Īlso, since I had the code looking for a bookmark next to the sender's name, I wrote a quick macro (ctrlsft) to insert the bookmark in whatever document one was in.(BookmarkDelete.BookmarkCreate)

Also, since one of the envelope templates is for a 10x13 manila envelope that can only be printed on certian printers, a warning will come up, giving the user the chance to cancel the print or change to one of the correct printers.

The dialog box lets the user edit the address before the envelope is created, select the envelope template, decide whether to add the bar code, edit the sender's name (the templates already have the company return address in them) and allows the user to decide if he wants that name inserted in the return address. I made a few modifications (what programmer can resist?) to add a dialog box instead of your messagebox. And they can be launched with a single keystroke or mouse click. Templates and macros are used to automate your work and save you time and effort (and reduce mistakes).

Well, a template - another way of doing the same thing as the QuickWord trick above (but which does not require a QW) - has advantages:įor one thing, it's easy to update it for another, you can customize the whole envelope, not just the RA area. Or do I have to use some sort of funky macro/template mess?
